The Follow-Up

What Actually Cuts No Shows

By Room Two ·

Ask agents what they send the night before an appointment, and most will say they confirm the time and hope. Hope is not preparation, and a bare confirm does not cut no shows.

A reminder is timing only. A reminder at 24 hours and again an hour before helps people remember, but it does not tell them what the call is about, what they will decide, or who should be there. People still show up without the other person there, or they do not show up at all, because the call was never set up clearly.

A specific confirm works better than a generic one. Match the confirm to the meeting type. Say what you will cover on that call, in plain words, and who should be there. When the other spouse is not going to be there, say that plainly too, and say what happens next, so the call does not end with a surprise.

That is the whole idea behind an intro page. When you book the call, or the night before at the latest, you send a private page that takes under 60 seconds on a phone. Four quick questions: is a spouse or partner joining, what protection goal matters most, what coverage already exists, and what monthly budget feels doable. Plus one optional box for their biggest worry. The prospect arrives knowing what the call is about, and you arrive knowing their budget and whether both spouses will be there.

If a prospect still does not show, you do not start from zero. You already have their answers, and you can follow up with one specific line about what they told you, not another generic confirm.
